I would like to say a big “thank you” to all the wonderful Braithwaite volunteers. The list was originally collated by the Biggs family, who wished to help our village. They did a leaflet drop early in the lockdown to establish who was willing to help and who felt they needed a bit of help.
The volunteers have taken on many roles, including helping Daphne Eddington run her village shop, delivering goods from there to people’s homes, shopping, delivering prescriptions, pamphlets about mental health and telephoning to check that people are all right. I couldn’t possibly name all the volunteers because I’d risk leaving someone out. I also know that there are a number of other helpers who deserve our grateful thanks.
In addition to that, we have our ‘Community Newsletter’ which regularly keeps us entertained. Thanks for this must go to a group of school-age children. The letter is packed with information, jokes and puzzles and is a very good read. It is delivered to our homes and has helped to keep us cheerful.
We are very fortunate to live in such a caring community. Thank you to all from me personally and on behalf of the PCC.
