Since the coronavirus lockdown started Keswick Bridge Club members have been more active than usual. There is at least one imps game every day at 2pm on bridgebase.com
There has also been the advent of the Westmorland Online League open to Cumbrians and, in its inaugural season, club member Wendy Owen with partner Alan James took the honours in Division One ahead of runners-up John Wilmott partnering Felicity Kay. The Division Two championship was won by Gaynor Williams partnering Bill Richardson, who gained promotion to Division One.
Joan Taylor and bridge partner Leo Lehninger, two of the club’s longest-serving members, won the Division Three Championships, gaining promotion to Division Two. Joan, who is the club secretary, and Leo, as director, between them have been the backbone of the club for many years
